Who makes the 'best' 210 in HO in terms of fidelity, realism and usability?

Any thoughts?

The only one I have noted is the version by Trix.
But I do not know how good it is!

Planning on modelling the Allgäubahn, Tim? I was playing around with modelling Immenstadt at one time, and 210's would have been a plus at that point. Now that you can get decent 218's and Trix has the 210, and Brawa has the V320, you can do a very nice version of the line in the 1970's. Oh, and the TEE Bavaria Ram was released by Roco, too.

The Mehano 210 is has a nice overall shape and good decoration, but the detail is lacking hugely. The bodyside grilles have no kind of relief for instance. Take a look at http://www.bahnwahn.de/mehanodb210/ for a couple of pictures which I think illustrate what I mean.

Tim,

I have the TRIX BR 210 with sound and am generally very satisfied, despite the superfluous diagonal handgrips on the fronts. Its DCC running properties are excellent. It has the nice feature of being able to activate front and rear lights separately. The only other small flaw I have noticed is that I can't turn the turbine sounds on and off while the diesel sound is on and the loco is running, to simulate occasional use of the "helper" turbine. The turbine sound works fine with the diesel sound if activated with the loco stationary.

Hope this helps
Tom
