Wish list 2008
As far as I'm concerned we're still where we were a year ago - no BR83.10, DR Reko BR03, BR41 or BR03.10. And no real chance of a Neubau BR50.40... I'm not certain that Gutzold's BR58.30 will actually make an appearance next year, but if if does it'll fill a large gap as the BR58.30 was probably the most successfull DR Rekolok. And still no proper Czech(oslovakian) outline motive power or coaches. Which I find absolutely bizarre when you consider how universally well known and far travelled the Albatrosses (498, 498.1) and Stokers (556) were. And with the Czechs rebuilding three of the aesthetically controversial 'Laminatka' electrics for use into Austria, surely there's scope for a decent model of one of those iconic Skoda products. High horse dismounted: Roll on 2009! Steph

Need someone to bring out 1920's fire engines. Need to think about buying people for the layout to make it a bit more life like, Locomotives on the layout outnumber the people! Want someone to bring out a set of DRG landerbahn boxcars (5 or 10, I'm not greedy) Would like Brawa to bring out a set of 5 or 10 of their Om open wagons. Need to make a decesion about buying coaches for my two Fd trains and finding suitable locomotives for them. John All within my budget of course.

Epoch III Dostos articulated please!

John Woodall- 11-21-2007

Articulated Roger? Do you mean with a Jacobs truck? John

Steph Dale- 11-21-2007

Hmm, interesting that - the number of times you hear people asking for dosto sets. Yet the Piko versions were very good requiring only the subtlest detailling to bring them up to modern standards. However - I'd be most interested in the 5-car articulated and semi-articulated sets. They are (or were) available from somewhere in brass, but a good, modern, plastic r-t-r version would be very useful. And what about the double deck height restaurant and post cars that could run with the Piko sets? They'd be good too... Steph

Roger Marsh- 11-21-2007

Not sure what you mean by Jacobs truck John ...

Andrew Mattock- 11-21-2007

....As seen on Eurostars & TGVs, etc...amongst other stock. Two coaches sharing one bogie between them.

Roger Marsh- 11-22-2007

Time for Tillig/Sachsenmodelle to extricate digit.

Steph Dale- 11-22-2007

Sachsenmodelle did many moons ago. And they weren't as good as the Piko ones! I suspect they lost the tool for the window mouldings so had plain thin clear plastic glued inside the bodyshell. I've never seen centre vehicles for them either. The printing was a bit better than the elderly Piko version though. Most unfortunate... Steph

Tim, I have given up waiting and gone for a Model Loco/Roco umbau. David

John Woodall- 12-16-2007

Well we do need one Brawaist to give un-biased views :D Even though it is not strictly what I model, the highest thing on my list of must haves one day is a DRG Class 98.7 (ex Bay BBII). This is probably the only locomotive that I would now buy that would not necessarily have to have sound in it. John

Peter Ellis- 12-16-2007

Need someone to bring out 1920's fire engines. John All within my budget of course. Jordan do some La France and Ahrens-Fox 1920s fire engines. I presume some got exported to Europe. Roskopf did a 1920s fire engine. Gollwitzer have done resin MB Stuttgart fire engines from 1928. Cheers

Liliput/Bachmann to do the rest of the train that included the 383613 Sendewagen 'M' as it is useless in isolation. Fortunately the other vehicles were only mostly variations on the one they have done, as they were all created from coaches that were a cancelled Mitropa order and it is a paint job rather than new moulds. There seems to be some perception that this was just a communications vehicle attached to the Goering train, but they were nothing to do with it. They were actually operated by the Post Office of all people and were operated in conjunction with the Luftwaffe as a specific train, with its own generator, as a mobile beacon for the Luftwaffe to get bearings from. The prototype was pretty obscure but as they have elected to do one coach, lets have the others. One coach out of a specific train is a bit pointless.
