Warning: Misleading Postage Charges
I recently ordered the Rusty Rails painter kit and a load of weathering stuff from Joe's Model Shop in the US. It's now here and I look forward to using it. You can see their products here: http://www.joesmodeltrains.com/index.htm I was less impressed with the postal charges which were 4 times the $10 quoted on the website. When I queried this I discovered that the $10 is added to the postal charge (careful reading of the website words implies this, but it's not very clear). In my case the postage turned out to be $30 making a total of $40! I know the dollar is weak right now, but that's still pretty expensive and around 1/3 of the total order. So be warned. If ordering from Joe's Model Trains, expect to pay $10 plus a hefty postage charge. I have suggested they change the website information to make it clearer as I think it's misleading. No criticism of their actual products is implied.
