Trix BR89-review
Two years ago I bought one of these because it was closer to the prototype used on the KRF than the Fleischmann version and it also had NEM 362 boxes which meant Kadees would be easier to fit.
Unfortunately the 'new' model had a faulty PCB which needed removal in order to fit an ESU lok-pilot and the model finally became available last month.
It really is a good model, almost silent and a very good mechanism when used on DCC, unfortunately its original fault precluded a test on DC. The wheels and valve gear are chemically darkened, they are not as fine as the 25 year old Fleischmann model but they are free from wobble and the model runs very smoothly without a trace of rear end waggle. The cab is motor free thanks to a top-class can motor which is fitted with a flywheel.
Not bad at all.
