The Running of the Sheep
I have just seen on the TV news some coverage of an exciting event in a small town south of Auckland NZ, involving 1,899 sheep, in an event supposedly evocative of the running of the bulls in a certain Spanish city.
Perhaps the Kiwi members of this forum might like to comment?
Yes, but in Pamplona the bulls are running after the men, in NZ, the roles are reversed*
Tim
*I wonder why?

As a Welshman, you should know.
Is this why Kiwi horses are so fast?
After all, they saw what happened to the sheep.
Puts a whole new meaning to that iconic welsh animal known as a Welsh mountain pony, doesn't it.
John from New Zealand
Now what country has the naked sheep shearers calendar?
no Tim,
It is a "cultural" icon of Australia, who it must be said have more sheep than New Zealand.
As far as horses go, it comes down to one specific blood line. The late great Sir Tritram whose offspring have produced more group 1 winners than any other.

Unfortunately the Kiwis don't seem to possess the same sense of humour as our Oz friends
No sense of humour!
Look at our cricket team, who it must be said were able to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.
The all blacks can't win the games that matter.
Our sailors became Swiss nationals.
Our horses are all sold to the highest bidder.
My trains cost to much.
If I didn't laugh, I would probably cry.
Ah, but the sheep are slow
But their PM is definitely more masculine than ours ......
But their PM is definitely more masculine than ours ...... That wouldn't be hard.
