Tail Lights and Signs for Goods Trains
Can anyone recommend a source of H0 scale tail lights and/or tail signs/discs for goods trains in Epoch II (and Epoch I in Bavaria if there were any that early on)?

Is this what you had in mind? It's Brawa 2231: http://www.brawa.de/en/Products/H0/Wagon-Accessories/2231-tail-disc-set.html I'm not sure how early this arrangement was used. Jurgen

According to http://www.hs-merseburg.de/~nosske/EpocheII/ds/e2d_0601.html#sig17 and http://www.hs-merseburg.de/~nosske/EpocheII/ds/e2d_3601.html#sig46 They were used from 1907 and certainly in 1935

Jürgen, Nicholas, Spot on - thank you. I will try and pick the Brawa ones up when in Germany next month.

Are there equivalent signs for Epochs III or IV? Richard.

Jurgen Kleylein- 03-14-2008

Richard, I believe the Brawa items are correct into era IV. I usually see the red disk hanging off the coupler of light locos or short reverse movements on mainlines. The rectangles are mounted on the last waggon on goods trains. Fleischman also has a waggon (actually, two; one for era III and this one for IV) with tail lights fitted: http://www.fleischmann.de/?viewproduct=384&pid=17&trackgauge=1&label=9&equipment=&epoch=&query=&onlynew= . The downside there, of course, is it will always have to be at the end of your train. Jurgen
