Rail 2008
Anyone going to Rail 2008 in Houten ( NL) 7-9 March ? Two weeks ago I was invited. As I managed to organise a crew, I agreed to be there Stand 74 Meidoornzaal. Anyone who likes to see the layout, it will be one of the last times it will be shown in public. regards Jacq

I thought the show lacked the sheer quality of previous Rail events, the outstanding layout being Dreimühlentalbahn from Jacq Damen. Unfortunately the major sponsors were not present and the imminent Intermodellbau in just five weeks may have taken a lot of business, hopefully Alex and his crew can attract sponsors in '09. The continued rise of the Euro against Sterling did not help matters and hands were kept firmly in pockets. The venue was more attractive than S'Hertogenbosch however the last event at this location was marred by the site being re-developed and the weather wasn't too kind. Didn't see much of the British contingent, well nothing memorable apart from Iain Rice but on the other hand I wasn't looking too closely as it was a (literally) flying visit. Consequently no photos except for Jacq Damen's magnificent layout that deservedly won at Warley.
