Napier 2008
Well here could be the ultimate holiday trip. :D At Easter weekend 2008, Napier will be “hosting” :? the barmy army as the NZ cricket team play the English in a test match, BUT wait there is more! :8) The annual Highland Games will also be held at Napier that weekend, BUT wait there is more!!!! :8) :!: The NZAMRC will also be holding their Bi-annual model railway convention. (http://www.nzamrc.org.nz/) Short of the All Blacks playing a test match in Napier that weekend it doesn’t get much better than that. :!:  Accommodation is getting a bit scarce, but if you have an interest in Model Trains, Cricket and things Scottish this could be the ultimate weekend away. Flying time from Europe is a very reasonable 24 hours plus time spent in Airports. I will be there (along with the family  ), and there is a strong likelihood that Istein (gauge 1) will also be in attendance. John Not on the organising committee, but secretary of the NZAMRC.

Alan, I am sure that we could find somewhere for you to stay. If you were especially good, we might even let you sleep with Istein :P If you couldn't bear the thought of sleeping with trains, there is bound to be a hayloft somewhere that is free. Unfortunately there are no coalmines nearby for you to hunker down in. John
