Yes, not a bad way of quickly building a small town to fill that empty space in the middle of the layout, pending the purchase, construction and detail finishing of kits (or scratchbuilding!). Of course most of them aren't particularly Germanic in appearance but, depending on your modelling aims, that may not matter a whole lot.
