We travelled on a postal train from Hamm to Paderborn in the early hours of the morning, which had empty express coaches at the front of the train, stock movement? I think it was a Kassel working (1962). I came across this schedule today. It's not in the Post Express series, so I never noticed it before, but it does have a block of Postal vans following a set of Bm coaches, and it was scheduled early in the day. Do you suppose this is the one you were thinking of, albeit a version from 10 years later? Even if it isn't, it's a Wuppertal connection which may be of use to you. Jurgen edit: I just noticed it's the westbound which runs early in the day, so I'm probably off base. Oh well.

Jurgen, Many thanks, any reference to Wuppertal is most welcome. I see the trains miss out Koln Hbf and use Koln West, strange for an international service? Many thanks again. David

I should have looked the thing over more before posting. I think the 'm' in Dm 80040 stands for "military". The train is most likely a troop train, and the postal wagons just went along for the ride. I also noticed that the Grss-v's only got as far as Aachen, so they have nothing to do with Wuppertal at all. So how do you feel about adding a troop train to your operations? Jurgen

Image showing that DBP coaches ventured outside Germany. The train is an Italian working arriving at Brenner Austria, so add postal coaches to International expresses. First coach and the seventh are Postal stock. Foto.drehscheibe. David

Folks, Yet another enquiry. Trying to make up plausable postal workings for the Bahnpost area. Would Ferry vans be used for conveying International post? Grusse, David
