Lok Pavillion in DresdenHi All,
Has anyone had any dealing with this company?
They have some good models on offer.
I am a bit wary!

Many thanks,

Yes, but they really are a glossy box shifter in the centre of Dresden and are rather over-hyped. The better shop is Grunekotter in Radebuel, he knows his stuff, sells the model that you really want to buy rather than 'same old same old'
I believe that if you search this forum, you will find my previous negative comments about Lok-Pavillion and positive comments from David Manders about Gunekotter.

I have never dealt with them by mail order, but they have an impressive shop just outside Dresden Hbf. The first time I visited them they had some live steam on display - 5" gauge or continental equivalent.
As to prices, generally slightly more expensive than Grundcotter in Radebeul - about 5-10 Euros more for a typical HO Fl. or Roco loco
I've visited the shop and dealt with mail order with this shop.... absolutely problem free and an interesting selection of both bmainstrean and specialist products... no hesitation in recommending them.
Two contrasting opinions within the forum however that is hardly surprising and reflects the apparent wide range of interests within the RoG forum.
I prefer a model shop that caters for those who get into the weeds of actually building a layout as opposed to collecting therefore Lok-Pavillion, with its rows of brightly lit cabinets stuffed full of shiny models, will appeal to the collectors amongst us.
Grundkotter offers a wide range of details from the smaller manufacturer, something lacking in other model shops and his knowledge of the prototype is extensive. However this OP was not about Grundkotter and I have hijacked the thread, mea culpa.

Nice shop in Dresden and excellent mail order service to the U.K, which I have used quite a lot. No hesitation in recommending them

Many thanks for the replies.
My main reason for asking, is the number of Ade coaches shown, which are quite reasonably priced and they take credit cards.
Thanks again,
David
