Kibri questions
Hello Everyone, Since a posting by Tim back in August of '06, I need some updated info. I had ordered Kibri sets back in April, I just recieved the back order yesterday of which there is still a small set from them that is still on back order with no time line in sight. Is Kibri still reorganizing? Have any of you had problems with your orders? Were the kits (material) different looking from older ones? Of all the buildings I have built, this is the only company with stickers for the fachwerk. Just wondering. :?

Have you looked on Ebay? There is a seller called Johnvandamme (I think) who has huge stocks of buildings usually at heavily discounted prices.

Sorry Peter, I was not able to find anything familiar to this name in connection with Ebay/Kibri. Pierre

This is a reputable dealer. I have bought a number of items from him over the last 6 months.

Thank you for your reply. I couldn't find it the first time because I looked at Ebay.com not Ebay.de. The prices are very reasonable and I will bookmark this site. Thanks again!

Kibri Questions
Still trying to get an update on this company. I went to their website and they have NONE of the "new" items posted in N scale like some retailers here are posting both with and without prices-which is strange to me by itself. I have contacted them more than once and one retailer will tell me "they will be here in 2 weeks" and another one tells me "I dont know when" but says he will put a price on them on his website - and doesn't. This, of course, taking the span of many months. Now I am wondering, from their website, is any of the "new" stuff available even in Germany/Europe? How is it that any company can keep telling customers "its on the Way" and not deliver one thing-ever? ANy info or insight is greatly appreciated. Pierre

Hi Pierre. All I can say is I'll talk to my local shop Guagemasters next time I'm there as they are the local UK distributors. Plus I'm in Germany in September and visiting the Cologne Model show in Novemeber. So I'll try and keep you updated. Mind I was a bit supprised at the la-*test*-('") offerings. Some items I wanted, such as the skyscraper have gone and the prices for some of the kits are very high. Not sure I want to pay over £70 for an unpowered, plastic wheeled overhead inspection car. SJ

I just checked johnvandamme's site and he now has the new N scale Kibri available. Now I wonder how long it will take to come here. I will not wait, I will order from him since some of you have had good service with him. I also look forward to getting info from SarahJ. :D

I just wanted to let all of you know that today my Kibri order just came in. I had recieved an email the other day that I was getting a package but I did not know what this was about. It had been so long that I forgot but when I opened it, it was the Kibri kit. I guess they are finally available in the U.S. Pierre

Hi there. Just got back today and only managed to visit one shop in Cologne. His stock of kibri was quite good and he had a few of the special sonder models as well. They also had some new items in stock. Will update on info from Guagemasters when I know more, plus of course the show in Cologne in november. SJ

Thank you SarahJ, I have been looking forward to your update. I am happy with the Auschaffenburg Apoteke building but on a curious note, when I put the walls to the foundation, it said on the bottom, "made in Western Germany." I still need a couple of buildings and I want the Kibri's. I look forward to your other update as well. Pierre

SarahJ- 09-28-2008

Well if you tell me the kit numbers I will see what my visits and enquiries turn up. As for the made in western germany, I've noticed a few off the big names including faller bringing out kits that went from their collection years ago. Fallers hobby line is a big one for this, and of course Kibri has just reintroduced the Bonn range from that went from their line about 10 years ago. SJ

I did not know that about Faller. I guess this is a similar situation like Pola/Model Power and Kato/Preiser. Maybe it is cheaper to reintroduce moulds than to buy new ones. The Kibri's are kits 7100, 7117 and my third option is 7091. Pierre
