Me ? I'm just off to Hamburg main station, especially as most of the trains are still loco hauled. A day ticket after 9 am costs less than 5 Euro, and allows me to enjoy the wonderful sound of diesel hydraulic while riding behind (or being pushed by) 218s on local trains tonight.

Alan, I think we all got put off by your bringing up the subject of entsorgen again  Steph

Steph, Are you suggesting that, whilst researching certain aspects of German railway history, I was trying too hard to get to the bottom of the matter ?

I'm building a station (not a real one!).

Went to Paris last weekend. Ksenija's choice. It did, of course, coincide with the big modelling exhibition, so I was happy too. I was amazed at what s/h France Trains coaches sell for. I also bid on some this week on ebay and up to the last minute was winning with, what to me were fairly high bids, that I had a spare 10 Euros in hand on, when in the last seconds, someone put another 100 Euros on and still got trumped. I'd thought some were dear at the Maquette, but these were crazy prices.

I am enjoying my new Crest "Train Engineer" setup. http://www.aristocraft.com/ One transmitter (like a TV remote) and two receivers (each with own power supply) permits me to run two locos simultaneously and independently on my HO toggle-switch block control layout. And, as can turn off a block, the loco will sit in that block while I run another in different blocks off the same receiver. Much cheaper than DCC if you only plan running two trains simultaneously and, no changes required to locomotives. One restriction: can't run two trains independently on same block of track. Otherwise, it's the poor man's DCC.

What am I doing? Trying to persuade etched brass hinges to remain bonded to the plastic doors on a Ratio BR Southern Region Van B kit. Two have fallen off already, never to be seen again!

A difficult choice!

The 94 by a whisker; or maybe it is just that I love those loks!

andrea vanzetto- 05-19-2006

A weathered 94!

For me: A 93 with a working cardan shaft. Peer

And what am I doing? A Piko 0 Car that is desperately waiting to be backdated to year 1910. And just another Piko hoping to be saxonized. Morover some 50 centimetres of track laying. Two structures waiting to be finished. And…and… oooch too many open projects. :) And this here also. Company Artitec gave us a fine resin vessel and claim its 1:87. Doubting? I doubt! It is a fine guess to have it more on the 1:95 range or so. Scale does matter. But who cares? Capitano Preiser? Peer

I am busy with support frame, fiddleyard modules, operators panel....all the necessary invisible parts that make a exhibition layout atractive and operation reliable. Shortly I will post photo's of my weathered torpedopfannen cars. Not in the mood to do finescale modelling and detailing due to an efficiency round at work, we said goodby to 21 collegues. Jacq

Currently putting the finishing touches to 5 Southern Pacific HO diesels that I've been weathering for a friend. About to re number a 44Kst. Cheers, Dave.

Making Alpha-Trains DB coaches run freely; refining roof detail on Lima BR 403 "Lufti" set; researching Detmold Military Railway 1946-1948. Oddly, the first-named is the most difficult owing to very tight clearances and soft steel bearing beams! David
