Well, what did Santa bring? Any railway-themed goodies?     A Swiss railway station clock. No, not a real one, silly! But a mini one with straps on that I can wear on my wrist.

A Trix Br05 003 whenever his elves get there act together to deliver it!

Erkut Baykal- 01-03-2008

Err...a Gützold Br 52 mit Steifrahmentender ! I am drooling all over :D :D E.Baykal

Normally I buy a loco and my family give it to me as a present. This year I left it to them and, yes, I did get a loco... one of those tiny Thomas the tank engine lookalikes that goes on the end of a pencil! Fortunately there was nothing out there that I really wanted anyway!

Jim Thompson- 01-03-2008

Well! Paul, if you had not 'fessed up, I would probably not have really mentioned this: My daughter (age 20) got me a magnetic (ersatz-BRIO) "Sir Handel", and a large Thomas cuddle pillow - which I sat with the rest of Christmas morning! Maybe not a Gutzold (mode ON: envy, covet, envy, covet :mode OFF) :) , but quite meaningful to me. Peace in the new year to all, Jim

No trains under the tree for me, but had treated myself enough in the past and future year. I did prepare and give my wife and daughter the trimmings to build their own n-scale modules. This included laying the track and wiring, getting the frame/leg assembly, a few kits, and scenery supplies. Then showed my daughter how to build her kits (Auhagen) and helped with laying out the scene and some of the landscaping. Laid low while my wife began building her abandoned quarry scene. Great fun actually. p.

Well depending on how you look at it, my lovely wife gave me a DRG class 57.4. It wasn't wrapped up under the tree, but the thought was there! My girls gave me a christmas wagon and a marklin magazine wagon. It is funny how you get one of these and they look ok, but when you have the whole set, they do look rather good. Santa decided to leave his present to me bit late, but there are all sorts of goodies on their way already I hear, but not the Marklin 0 10-11's I so want/need. John

Paul Eaton- 01-04-2008

Peter, I'm very impressed that you've persuaded the family to take part! After my kids built a couple of modules on my layout several years ago, all interest has waned in competition from boyfriends, mobile phones, facebook, TV, DVDs and other sad time-wasters of the modern age. Of course they might say that railway modelling is a sad time-waster from an earlier age!

Andrew Mattock- 01-04-2008

A Mehano HHP class 66 with sound and a rake of Sggmrrs double container wagons (somewhere between Belgium and York in the post!)

Ralf Kramosch- 01-04-2008

It was from me, but the box arrived on Christmas eve, so that sort of counts. Inside were some modern container wagons, including the pricey Brawa Megafret Kombi or whatever it's called. I was admiring them regularly during the holidays. RK

My Marklin O 10-11's have finally been produced and are on their way from Germany, yipeee. Currently getting ready for the train convention in Napier at Easter, which will be a whole heap of fun. John

David Ingram-Seal- 03-05-2008

Waiting for my Weinert parts to arrive, so that I can get cracking on with my DB 1960s version of 03.10. Tim, Brilliant :8) John, Enjoy them, when they arrive. David

Those daisies are very nice. I was trying to find ferns the other day for my layout but couldn't find them. I wonder if the still make them. I've been constructing brick railway cuttings from plasteboard for a city scene which is keeping me busy.

Finishing up my 1/35th motorized Panzer Spahwagen. Stop and start working on the 1/35th BR52. Cutting/milling my brass chassis for a Deutz OME 117 (which gets more work because I like it the most). Primarily taking down and putting up walls and rewiring the basement renovation. My wife reminded me that, "Those trains have to have a nice place to run!". Oh yes and my 15 year old reminded me that, "Dad, I NEED to be able to leave my (pick a game console we got em all) games out! Still hopefully trying to get a copy of HeeresFeldbahnen Schmalspurbahn and MAYBE finding drawings for a G 10 Gutterwagen. Other than that just the usual stuff. Cheers Will

What am I up to at the moment? Well actually I'm building a couple of Canadian National lightweight GP9s! And starting to look at how I'm going to get a decoder in to Tim's Lima V36. <sqeeze> <click> <ping>    So pretty much 'situation normal'... :D Steph
