HO-kits. Where to order?
Hi Group,
Myself and a fellow modeller want to purchase and import some Faller and Kibri kits for use on our own layouts.
Due to the high shipping costs from Germany to South Africa we have decided to make up one order between the two of us to share the shipping costs.
I have e-mailed requests for quotes to several dealers in Germany about ten days ago and only one responded (within 48 hours) but he can only supply about 70% of the items required. No other response.
It would appear to me that once you won a bid on one or more items on e-bay from the same dealer, that dealer is only to willing to provide you with a quote for other items not on e-bay but available in his shop, because he is certain of the fact that he has a deal on the e-bay items.
It is not cost effective to buy one or two items on e-bay and have it shipped to South Africa due to the high shipping costs.
Are there members of the group that can recommend dealers who stock Faller, Kibri, Vollmer and other brands and who are prepared to provide qoutes? Germany seems to be the obvious choice but maybe one should look at dealers in the UK or USA also? Even if those dealers do not have all the items in stock, would they be prepared to order it from the factory?

Thanks for your reply - I will give those dealers a try.
BTW I have in the meantime established that some of the Faller items are not available anymore.
