Found this text on UK Model Railway Shop Directory site GERMAN RAILWAY SOCIETY European Model Railway Exhibition Saturday 22nd September, 2007 The Committee of the GRS regret that due to unforseen circumstances it has become necessary to CANCEL the European Model Railway Exhibition which was due to take place in the Town Hall, Sutton Coldfield on Saturday 22nd September, 2007. The Committee sincerely apologise for this decision having to be made and for the inevitable inconvenience which it will cause to anyone.

Its a bit of a pain because I had postponed my trip to Sudan to go to this show, but 'theretiz, as us zay in theze 'ere partz'

Rummor has it that "some-one forgot to confirm hall booking"!!!!!!!!!!. (This what a friend was told by some one in a model shop in Oxford).

Straight from the booking person within the Sutton Coldfield Town Hall staff- 'The GRS did not bother to confirm the tentaive booking despite receiving numerous 'phone calls from Sutton Coldfield Town Hall staff in April and May this year. Therefore those responsible were aware of the situation but did not inform others within the GRS committee.' Tim :lol:

At this rate the AGM (which might be worth going to to see all the red face's and here the excuses) Will be in the car park of the Marriot Hotel!

Pity - I was really looking forward to my first 'German/Austrian Railways' exhibition visit. Can anyone recommend another such exhibition? say within a 100 miles from Bristol on any weekend?
