Fleischmann motor replacement
Folks, I remember someone mentioning a companies website, who made direct replacement motors for the Fleischmann pancake type motor. I would be most grateful for any assistance. David

http://www.rail4you.ch http://www.trainsahead.com/c_sine.htm Or you could try fitting the later Fleischmann armature: Part number of the main part is 504603 called "armature" in english, i.e. Rotor with flywheel-mass The set is no. 504604, containing the rotor (armature), 3 pinions (10, 12, 14 mm) and 3 washers. I do have an alternative exchange rotor with part number 504606 - cannot tell whether there is a difference to 504606, electric resistance seems the same (13 to 14 Ohm) only that some flywheels do have a green dot, others a black dot or none at all on the metal bit.

David, You can also try the Model Torque motors. They're available in the UK from Inter City Models: http://www.intercitymodels.com/Modeltorque.html I don't know how good they are (never used them) but may be easier to DCC than the ones Tim was suggesting. I am not sure though and it may not be relevant to you anyway. The odd couple of Fleischmann bits I've got that have ringfield motors will get Faulhaber motors, courtesy of sb modellbau http://www.sb-modellbau.com/. Prices are going to be more than the Modeltorque, and they may require some work to fit. But they're very, very good. The website is in German, but they do apparently understand English emails.
