Archeology: Krakow am See
Being a part of the Guestrow-Plau Line Krakow am See Station was raised in 1882. Like many Mecklenburg stations it was build / owned by Company Lenz & Co. Lenz handed this line ower to the Mecklenburg Friedrich Franz Eisenbahn in 1890. Last weekend I visited Krakow am See by chance. Light was poor this day for taking pictures but Krakow was always on top of my archeologic visiting list. Took some fotos of the station and of the goods shed. The station seems to bee in a good condition but the shed is more on the desperate side. 1./2. The porticus 3. Some details 4. Station from track side 5. to 8. The goods shed Peer

Gentleman, just one aspect I forget about. In 2002 Krakow am See became somehow famous when modelling company Auhagen started a new line of breaking plastic kits that sets a new standard of realism. Auhagen is offering both: Krakow station and Krakow shed. For some reason of marketing Auhagen is selling this product line more on the Prussian side. Well - Krakow am See was and is in Mecklenburg. But these kits are just great. I did the gods shed some days back and here is one picture. Peer

Hello, thank you ! I am very grateful to you of poster these photographs because I make this station. It is that which I chose (at Auhagen), it is really nice . I am allowed to me to diffuse one of the photographs on a French forum (loco revue) because it makes it possible to make a comparison between model and reality. I have to specify that you are the photographer Michel

Auhagen has made it easier for you Michel! It is great when things work out that way.

Thanks, Peer, for those excellent pictures. By comparison, here are some more pictures of the Auhagen kit. http://www.sachsenstolz.de/Modellbahn/Bahnhof_Krakow/bahnhof_krakow.html Again, don't get confused, this Krakow is neither in Saxony, nor in Poland (as I first thought  ) , but in Mecklenberg.

the photographs of the station presented by Auhagen are superb Alan. Effectivemnt, Krakow is located at north east of Germany ;it is true that it is not obvious :P . At the beginning I hesitated with the station of Artitec "Drubeck" (ref 10 155) but I did not find it. I do not regret my choice because the assembly of Auhagen is easier and the building have charm.
